BASH Results

Parents-

The results from the BASH meet were sent out in a email. Team results and +/- time improvements from your personal bests were included. Check out our updated Tsunami Records on our website. Our first mile swimmer in Tsunami history and many team pool records are falling.....FAST

We can not emphasize just how proud we are of the way the kids swam. The girls from the PCBY YMCA won Long course Y-USA championships this past summer and I believe BASH boys won Zones this past March. To show up for this meet (and some were kinda intimidated), to be able to get past intimidation and post best times or be near best times was just plain awesome! And you guys should be so proud of your swimmer(s). The first words that comes to my mind are: Determination, Resilience and Fellowship. Our cheering of our teammates as they swam was superb!

The coaches talked and we felt like this was a wonderful team bonding experience as the smaller number of swimmers enabled us to really talk with the kids and (hopefully) make the connection between the things we do in practice and how that translates to swim meets. Plus, I was approached by the head official and was told that she did not need to come see me much over the weekend (i.e. about DQ's by our team) and that she was impressed by this. And like I mentioned at the team dinner, several coaches invited us to some meets. All compliments to you swimmers!

Parents: Coach Cavan and I were talking with the woman selling socks and name tags in the gym and she told us that we have the politest swimmers that they were very respectful. She talked with us about all the meets she has been to and all the swimmers she has sold items to. She was impressed!!

We are only in year two of Y-USA Swimming in Louisville and we are certainly no slouch of a team. I hope some of you have a clearer picture of where we want this program to go and what we are striving for in Louisville. I hope you (parents) enjoyed it as well.

And swimmers, I hope we were able to get the newness of an away meet out of your systems. And we will certainly be better prepared for State Champs as we are ready for a two or three day meet. Hydration and meal prep are KEY!

Keep up the hard work swimmers! Enjoy some time with your families this Thanksgiving.
