Dear Swim Team Parents,

We hope everyone has been having a relaxing summer thus far. We extend a sincere apology for the delay in information regarding the upcoming 2023 -2024 swim season.

As some of you have already heard, the Oldham County YMCA and North East YMCA will no longer be combined to form the Tsunami Swim Team, as required by the KYCSL league. This is due to the changes in team size, as indicated in the new bi-laws when restructuring the league. An additional requirement of the new bylaws also states that to remain in the league, our swimmers must be enrolled on the team based on their residing branch. Because of this, families are no longer able to practice at both locations, since we are now two separate identities and teams. Registration will be open tentatively the week of 7/10-7/16. Please be mindful of the highlighted sentencing above and ensure to register your swimmer for their home branch of choice when open enrollment rolls around next week.

We understand that this decision is frustrating for some families and we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible. The YMCA of Greater Louisville will continue to offer an affordable program, with highly trained coaches, and flexible practice times. Both teams will continue to compete in the KYCSL league and will offer USA swimming. We are confident that both Oldham County and Northeast will offer mirrored programs with the same quality that is expected across the board. We will all resume this new season with the same enthusiasm and growth as we have seen in the past few years! More information will be provided through our Daxko account system upon enrollment.
