Virtual Meet vs. Beaumont Sunday 10/28 Events & Meet Info
Hi All!
We have 156 swimmers entered for our second "home" meet on Sunday 10/28 at Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center.
Address is: 201 Reservoir Ave, Louisville, KY 40206.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A TEAM SUIT!! You may purchase them at Swimville USA in Middletown. If this is an issue, talk with Michael. As with most sports, WE are a TEAM. Sure you race individually against the clock, but we cheer each other one as ONE. WE score as ONE and we are in relays as ONE. WE not ME!
8 Very important reminders for this meet so please read carefully:
1) Doors open at 9:30am and warm ups are 10am sharp. Meet to start at 10:30am and the facility closes at 4pm. We must finish the meet by 4pm. Therefore, if we are running out of time, we will not swim the medley relays at the end of the meet. WE should know this by the latest at half-time of the meet on Sunday, most likely before once we get Beaumont's entries.
2) We will sell heat sheets at the meet for everyone. $2 each. Attached is a list of events they will be swimming by alphabetical order. This has their event number, stroke swimming, and relay. You will get their lane and heat numbers at the meet. A heat sheet will not be provided via email.
3) You may bring folding chairs to the meet as we have the whole deep end at the facility for our meet. The aquatic center will have bleachers set-up for our team areas. Don't forget extra towels!
4) We will again have volunteer age group parents (THANK YOU!!) helping assist 10&Unders to the clerk of course however ALL 11&OVERS MUST GET TO THEIR EVENTS ON THEIR OWN. We will post the heat sheet in the team area on the pool deck. Sharpie your swimmers or send them with a Sharpie (instructions on how to "mark" your swimmers are also on our website under "Resources Tab" if you are new to swimming.
5) We will do fly-over starts. What this means is that once the swimmers are finished with their events, instead of waiting for them to climb out of the pool, we will start the next heat. Swimmers must remain in the water until the next heat starts and dives in the water. Then they may get out of the water. We will go over this with the kids as well.
6) We will have light concessions again for this meet. However, make sure the kids pack a lunch box of healthy snacks drinks, water, fruit, PB&J, refillable water bottle, etc, Things you know they will eat/drink.We did an excellent job of this for the 14th! (Nutrition information is posted on our website under the Resource Tab).
7) Just a heads up: the age-up date for this meet is October 20th however, we have decided to place swimmers in their seasonal age groups for relays and most swimmers will be in their seasonal age groups for their individual events. Just a heads up if you happen to see your swimmer(s) in different age groups for this meet as opposed to the UofL meet.
8) Swimmers must stay OUT OF THE SHALLOW END POOL at all times. The shallow end is open to the public for lap swimming and recreational swimming. Unless you would like to pay for entry to the facility, please let your swimmers know that they can not be in the shallow end of the pool. We will also reiterate this with the kids.
As always, make sure you get a good night sleep on Saturday and think about not staying up late. Do not come to the meet on an empty stomach! Consider eating a healthy breakfast Sunday morning when you wake up.
WE are a TEAM. WE are a COMMUNITY. WE ARE Tsunami!
WE not ME!
GO Tsunami!!
