Meet Information & Heat Sheet for Sunday's Meet 10/14
Hi All!
We are READY for this meet parents!! The kids have worked super hard in practice! So as we gear up for our first swim meet of the season, there are 6 VERY important things to know for new and returning families. Attached you will find the heat sheet for Sunday.
Please read each very carefully:
1) This is ALL ages swim meet. There are NO sessions at this meet. All kids will swim during the same time period.
2) Doors open at 8:30am and our warm ups are at 9am SHARP. Please plan on being there by 8:30am and in the water by 9am. Meet starts at 9:45am. It will take the kids a few to get changed, and situated.
3) Parking: Your best bet will be to park in the Floyd Street garage for $5. You may also find a spot on the street if you wish however, DO NOT PARK IN MCDONALDS PARKING LOT, PAPA JOHN'S or ANY BUSINESS, STUDENT OR FACILITY PARKING LOT (even on Sunday) you will get a ticket or worse- towed.
4) What to pack: Parents,YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SIT WITH YOUR CHILD during the meet. Please convey this to them. You must sit in the stands, parents, and are not allowed on the pool deck (unless you are working the meet). Same goes for swimmers and they will not be allowed to sit with you. DO NOT BRING CHAIRS TO THE MEET. UofL does NOT allow folding chairs on the pool deck. We have the younger swimmers in a spot that will be close to the stands.
FOOD: Pack a lunch box or better yet, have your swimmers pack a lunch box with healthy snacks, drinks, water, fruit, PB&J, refillable water bottle, etc, Things you know they will eat/drink. We will have light concessions so consider packing money as well. Muffins and fruit, drinks as well as pizza for lunch for the kids. Nutrition suggestions are posted on our website under the "Resources Tab" We want to see HEALTHY snacks for the kids to eat and not JUNK FOOD. I know its tempting to run across the street during the meet, but we ask that you NOT buy your child McDonald's to eat during the meet. What we put in our body is how we swim!!!
5) We will have volunteer age group parents helping assist 10&Unders to the clerk of course however ALL 11&OVERS MUST GET TO THEIR EVENTS ON THEIR OWN. We will post the heat sheet in the team area on the pool deck. Sharpie your swimmers or send them with a Sharpie (instructions on how to "mark" your swimmers are also on our website under "Resources Tab" if you are new to swimming.
6) We will email the heat sheets to you (see attached). You must print them off and bring them with you. We will also stream the meet results live on the Meet Mobil app. You may download the app if you wish. Again, we will put a heat sheet in the team area for the kids to read. You will have them in time so go over with them what events they are in.
We will be combining: 1&2, 3&4, 7&8, 9&10, 11&12, 37&38, 41&42, 49&50, 51&52, 53&54, 75&76, 85&86, 91&92.
Lastly, I will send out another email about the Annual Campaign and how we are asking families to help with this on Sunday. Stay tuned!
GO TSUNAMI!!!!!!
